Project Scope and Stages
For Friends of Hudson River Park, our goal is to create a more experiential, exciting site that aims to elevate the profile of the organization and grow its community. The site will also showcase the development and beauty of the park in a visually stimulating manner that appeals to young families, active professionals, volunteers, and potential donors. We plan to accomplish this with an attention-grabbing homepage that will introduce a full-screen site that conveys the expansiveness of the park. Weʼll use a clean combination of illustration and high-quality photography to show the transformation of the area.
To further emphasize the parkʼs changes, graphic elements that gauge the percentage complete will be incorporated, awakening interest in the progress of the parkʼs revitalization. More enthusiasm will be generated by integrating improved maps with the scope of the park. Utilizing Flash technology adds energy, attracting the target demographic and encouraging activity and involvement.
Additionally, Mudbug will contribute to an improved site structure, implementing a straightforward and intuitive navigation for a relaxing user experience, allowing visitors to easily find information. Other applications to enhance the experience factor of the FoHRP website include blogs and forums, a calendar of events, galleries to showcase other high impact photos of the park, as well as affiliation with Facebook, Twitter, and, most importantly, the Hudson River Park Trust. The most effective way to deliver these features will involve using a combination of customized software (CushyCMS, Wordpress, and Zenphoto) and original programming work by Mudbug Media.
