The Significance of Soup, or Roast Duck Revelations
An extremely personal, poignant essay, this particular piece digs deep into childhood memories and the powerful psychological associations formed during pivotal points of one’s life. “The Significance of Soup” was a particularly difficult work for me to write due to the intimacy of the subject, but one very close to my heart for the same reason; it allowed me, for the first time, to tap into the unconventional relationship I have with my father and food.
